Based in Portland, Maine, Mindbridge is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reshaping our approach to social change. Grounded in decades of psychological and neuroscientific research, Mindbridge leverages scientific insight in how best to engage hearts and minds. We help the helpers and healers access what drives human behavior to make human rights work more effective.
By “bridging” human rights work in the field with psychological and neurobiological science from the lab, Mindbridge programs reveal the core of what drives us. We partner with government and community-based organizations to build holistic approaches to transformation and effective interventions. We engage the human at the heart of the work.
The Countering Extremism Directive is a key approach in our mission to propel change. We know from a growing body of research that deradicalization efforts are made more effective when we understand why people embrace extremist ideologies. At Mindbridge, we apply those insights. Mindbridge’s Countering Extremism Directive (CED) delves into the psychology and underlying neuroscience of authoritarianism and extremism to crack the code of radicalization and begin to mend a divided world.
