The Supreme Court's Affirmative Action Ruling has broad reaching implications for funders and grantmaking programs including racial equity and DEI initiatives and commitments. Post-ruling, there is concern that increased litigation will be brought before the court where race is a factor in decision-making—potentially including DEI efforts related to employment, vendor contracting, charitable giving, and investment and lending.
