Environmental & Climate Justice: Maine & Beyond

9a - 12p, Optional networking lunch 12-1p
Maine Audubon, 20 Gilsland Farm Rd, Falmouth, ME 04105

Gather with peer funders and community leaders in the environmental and climate justice movement to learn about relevant trends and topics on the leading edge of environmental and climate efforts in Maine. More details will be provided soon. Hear updates and connect with colleagues around your grantmaking and investments. There will be time for a networking lunch from 12-1p with an option to stay or take away with you.

Created in 2023, this network is the result of a merger between the Climate Change Funders Forum and the Environmental Funders Network. The Maine Climate & Environmental Funders Network (MCEFN) operates at the confluence of environmental concerns toward the goals of shared learning, building connections, and engaging in collective action. MCEFN’s programmatic work is guided by three priorities: civic engagement and democracy; equity, justice and power; and communications and narrative change. Under these priorities we explore topics like the green/blue economy, land conservation, climate justice, outdoor and environmental learning, and other issues impacting Maine communities. This group also explores urgent and emergent issues as it relates to climate and the environment.

Through strategic convenings, exploration of intersectional topics, and coordination of relevant and important information, the network creates value as “more than the sum of our parts.” We are actively seeking funders to participate in program development and to join the Advisory Committee.

Your meeting fees offset the cost for the venue, food, the ongoing work of the network, and provides honoraria to the presenting organizations. If you would like to attend in person, but cost is prohibitive, please reach out to Jeannette at jeannette@mainephilanthropy.org.
