Presented by Funders' Committee for Civic Participation

The 2030 Census may seem in the distant future, but critical decisions about decennial policies and operations are being made now. Join the Census Equity Initiative (CEI) and FCCP’s Funders Census Initiative (FCI) for a briefing on what philanthropy can do today to impact the fairness and accuracy of the count. Speakers from the US Census Bureau and national civil rights organizations will discuss the Census Bureau’s invitation for input as it begins planning for 2030 and the process to update federal data collection on race and ethnicity. Speakers will also discuss how to weigh in on the process by which local governments can seek to address the 2020 undercount for the purposes of federal funding. Participants will hear how philanthropy plans to provide input on these issues and learn how to stay engaged over the coming months and years.
