The York River Stewardship Committee issues Request for Proposals

Monday, February 5, 2024

The York River Stewardship Committee is excited to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) and an accompanying Application Form for its newly created York River Watershed Grants Program, made possible with funding from the National Park Service Partnership Wild and Scenic Rivers Program. Through this funding opportunity, the Stewardship Committee aims to support projects that implement the York River Watershed Stewardship Plan to protect or enhance watershed resources. Applications are due by April 30, 2024.

Eligible applicants include watershed municipalities (town departments, including schools, and town boards/committees) and community-based 501(c)(3) organizations. Statewide or regional 501(c)(3) organizations and government entities outside of the watershed communities of Eliot, Kittery, South Berwick, and York are also eligible to apply for projects that directly benefit York River watershed resources. Civic groups and associations without 501(c)(3) status, individuals, and businesses that are interested are encouraged to partner with an eligible entity.

Program details are provided in the Request for Proposals. Applicants are strongly encouraged to use the downloadable and fillable Application Form (Word format) to prepare project proposals.
