Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club promotes the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Mission:
We are people in Greater Portland who want to give the gift of bicycling – or adaptive tricycling – to people with significant disabilities who, until now, could only dream of going for a ride. We are a new nonprofit, now in our third year, with a Board of Directors, a Council of Advisors, and scores of volunteers and donors. What we have in common: we all know the fun and exquisite thrill of riding a bike, and want to give this experience to those, young and old, who cannot ride on their own.
