Presented by Philanthropy New York

During this time of racial reckoning, foundations are increasingly interested in various forms of impact investing. Over time, this should translate into more place-based investment into nonprofits and social enterprises that have not traditionally been able to access capital from traditional sources.

However, there are various barriers to turning this interest into action. In this session, foundations at various stages of the impact investing journey will discuss their journey and the approaches they have employed to get the money moving.

Explore

  • Why impact investing should be a tool in your toolkit to advance your foundation's mission
  • What different types of impact investing a private foundation can pursue
  • Why impact investing may feel intimidating and how you can develop your confidence and overcome the barriers
  • What impact investing vehicles funders are using to get into this space
