Disability is often used to reference an individual’s physical and/or mental health, their relation to hospitals, rehabilitation services, and other medical conditions. This interactive workshop helps participants understand disability prevalence and to move beyond symptoms to instead focus on inclusion. Finally, this session will provide guidance around reasonable accommodations and cultivating a culture that is inclusive of people with disabilities. Expected learning outcomes include:

  • Define disability and explore its significance to overarching equity efforts.
  • Become aware of and begin to address any potential internal or organizational biases.
  • Identify actions steps in addressing inequity as it relates to disability.

This workshop is presented by Keri Grey. Keri’s work centers on exploring the intersections of race, gender, and disability across the workplace. As a consultant, speaker, and facilitator, she works with companies and organizations, so they are prepared to leverage intersectionality as an organizational practice.  Keri is also the founder of the National Alliance of Melanin Disabled Advocates, a membership hub for Disabled Black & Brown people who are enhancing the social and economic standards of their communities.

Through her various roles, Keri has recruited approximately 4,000 professionals for over 100 organizations and Fortune 500 companies. She has also designed and managed programs for over 1,000 professionals that has helped participants secure competitive employment, identify transferable skills, build an influential network, and gain notable opportunities.

Keri’s work has been featured in Teen Vogue, the New York Times, People Magazine, Time Magazine, PBS NewsHour, Madamenoire, and the Diet Coke campaign #Unlabeled.
