Presented by The Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations

The Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations was created by the Maine State Legislature in 2019 to examine racial disparities across all systems and to advise the three branches of Maine’s government on ways to improve the status and outcomes of the state’s historically disadvantaged populations.

The Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous, and Tribal Populations will host its first Community Forum on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:30 pm until the end of community comments.

The purpose of the meeting is to create an accessible space where the voices of Maine’s historically marginalized communities can be amplified and heard. Commissioners will share their vision with the public and will listen in turn, as the opinions and experiences of community members will help to guide their work to eliminate racial disparities in the state.
