Corporate giving is a critical part of the greater philanthropic landscape. Through institutional grants, employee giving, volunteer efforts and customer philanthropy, corporations are often the first donors to respond to a disaster or crisis.
However, much of this support is allocated toward needs in the immediate aftermath of a disaster: food, shelter, tarps, clean-up, clothing and health care. While these are important needs to address, as climate change and increased inequities exacerbate the intensity and ramifications of disasters, more corporations are considering how their philanthropic efforts can go further and have a lasting, significant impact on communities recovering from disasters.
At the end of this webinar, donors – especially those who lead corporate giving and social impact programs – will:
- Understand how to be more strategic and proactive in their disaster giving.
- Learn how to inform employees and stakeholders who want to see immediate action about the importance of supporting long-term recovery.
- Gain concrete examples of disaster-giving strategies from peer funders.
