Do you hope to support conversations and initiatives that change communities?

In order to improve organizational effectiveness, do you seek stakeholder feedback that is informative, meaningful, and productive?

If so, you'll want to learn about Thrive2027. Led by United Way of Greater Portland and powered by community, this initiative seeks to advance strategic changes that improve life throughout Cumberland County.

At this brown-bag session, Tony Cipollone and Dan Coyne will offer insight into the challenges and opportunities of community-based problem-solving. They will explore the Thrive2027 journey, discuss the initiative's progress to date, and explain how Thrive2027 is working to break down silos. As always, there will be plenty of time for questions and participant dialogue.

About Thrive 2027

In 2015, Greater Portland came together because improvements in people's lives were neither happening quickly enough nor reaching as deeply or widely as needed. Despite all best efforts, too many neighbors were struggling. It was clear we needed more people at the table, collaborating to build a community where everyone can thrive. Thus, United Way of Greater Portland led a year-long, volunteer-driven process to establish a shared vision for Greater Portland. A cornerstone of the goal-setting process included 90 community conversations and surveys that led to more than 2,000 people sharing feedback. From Bridgton to South Portland, the issues that rose to the top of respondents' minds were the same. These shared concerns drove the development of Thrive2027, our community's collective vision that includes a commitment to three 10-year goals:

  1. To give kids a strong start.
  2. To empower neighbors to thrive – not just survive.
  3. To help us all live longer, better.
