Wednesday, July 29, 2015

The Maine Development Foundation recently announced that Yellow Light Breen, former Bangor Savings Bank executive, has been appointed their new President and CEO.

"For those of you who know Yellow, it is clear that his experience and interests are a perfect fit for our organization," said Jonathan Edgerton, the chair of MDF's Board of Directors. "He brings a plethora of relevant experience to MDF and is well known and highly respected throughout the State of Maine as a successful business leader and for his work and commitment to a number of important education and workforce initiatives. Yellow previously served on the MDF Board of Directors and also chaired Realize Maine, an ongoing MDF initiative that supports regional networking groups that attract, retain and support young professionals."

The Maine Development Foundation is a membership organization driving sustainable, long-term economic growth for the State of Maine. Their strategic focus is on workforce development, and they run leadership programs, programs to support preservation-based economic development in Maine downtowns, collaborations with businesses and education partners to enhance the educational attainment of Maine's employees, and more. They also produce an annual Measures of Growth report, marking Maine's progress toward long-term economic growth.

Maine Philanthropy Center corporate members may remember Yellow as a presenter at our June Defining ROI: From Recognition to Impact program. He's long been an engaged member of the Maine philanthropy community and we are excited to continue to work with him in his new role at MDF.
