Women for Healthy Rural Living seeks Experience Coordinator

Job Type: Full-time (32 hours) or part-time (24 hours), depending on the successful applicant’s experience and skills as well as their desire to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

About the position

The experience coordinator reports to the executive director and works closely with the chief operating officer and communications coordinator. The experience coordinator will help advance the organization’s mission and goals by overseeing the operational management of WHRL’s programming, including Outdoor Women Lead (OWL), book groups, Harvest Table cooking classes, art programs, health and wellness programming, and experiential fundraisers.

They will also work closely with the Incredible Edible Milbridge coordinator to plan and implement IEM educational initiatives.

  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for board meetings and programming
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and lift weights up to 50 pounds and participate in moderate to vigorous physical activity, including but not limited to hiking
  • The ability to accompany OWL on easy to moderate hikes of up to four miles
  • Experience with peer-to-peer fundraisers and fundraising platforms is a plus, but not required
  • First aid certification or wilderness first aid certification preferred, or we will help you acquire if hired
  • Grant writing and editing experience is a plus, but not required
  • English fluency, Spanish a plus

Duties and responsibilities

  • Program and event planning, implementation, and management
  • Plan, implement, and manage experiential fundraisers
  • Provide regular programmatic updates to the board
  • Devise new programs that support the organization’s mission
  • Evaluate and assess the programs’ impact, strengths, and weaknesses through data collection
  • Collaborate with Incredible Edible Milbridge coordinator on the planning of IEM workshops and educational initiatives in schools and gardens
  • Work closely with the Maine Outdoor School to plan, implement, and evaluate OWL events
  • Work with the team to develop and improve marketing strategies
  • Collaborate with the communications coordinator to promote programs, workshops, and volunteer efforts
  • Collaborate with the volunteer coordinator as needed
  • Manage the Community Advisory Council in coordination with the volunteer coordinator
  • Participate in staff meetings, fundraisers, and Community Advisory Council meetings, and more as needed
  • Actively participate in training as required and needed
  • Assist with any other projects as requested by the executive director
  • English fluency, Spanish a plus

Pay

$20-$25 per hour based on experience and/or qualifications
