About the position
The communications coordinator will create, manage, and maintain dynamic content for WHRL’s social media platforms, email marketing, and e-newsletters, focusing on engaging WHRL’s online audiences and building and deepening relationships while representing WHRL. - Minimum 1-year social media-related experience
- Experience writing and editing social, promotional, and informational material
- Proficiency with social media platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and emotional intelligence
- Professional and emotional maturity that demonstrates warmth, dependability, responsiveness, initiative, flexibility, and a good sense of humor
- Experience with MailChimp a plus
- Video editing experience a plus
- English fluency, Spanish a plus

Duties and responsibilities
- Oversee all social media outreach and integrate content with other communication mediums
- Create and implement social media strategy and content calendar in line with and communicating the organization’s mission
- Work closely with the team to develop social media campaigns that help to achieve organizational objectives
- Create and manage dynamic and thoughtful content in line with the organization’s mission via a range of media types (this process could include obtaining photographs, graphics, video editing, caption and content writing, and proofreading)
- Respond appropriately to questions and comments on our social media page in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain a united and attractive aesthetic across multiple product lines with complementary images, videos, and text, actively reinforcing WHRL’s branding
- Monitor, analyze, and report on metrics and analytics to measure the effectiveness of social media outreach
- Research and stay up-to-date with social media trends and strategies
- Create monthly e-newsletters
- Assist with videography/photography as needed
- Assist with content for semi-annual print newsletters
- Assist with any other projects as requested by the executive director
- Participate in staff meetings, fundraisers, and more as need be
- Actively participate in training as required and needed
Pay
$18-$22.00 per hour based on experience and/or qualifications
