The Sadie and Harry Davis Foundation's 2021 cycle of the Children’s Health Small Grants Program is now open. The Foundation is excited to present an improved website and simplified process for the grant application. The online application is open from April
15th, 9:00 a.m. through May 31st, 12:00 midnight. Updated guidelines and requirements are available on the new site.
The Foundation’s mission is to advance the health of Maine’s children. The Children’s Health Small Grants Program annually awards multiple grants ranging from $3,000 to $15,000. Since inception in 2008, the Program has awarded over $985,000 to more than 110 projects. A catalogue of funded organizations/projects can be found on the Foundation’s website. Projects must advance Maine children’s health and ensure access to needed services for underserved populations.
Website improvements coupled with an effort to best assist organization/community recovery from the pandemic have produced the following changes to the Small Grant application process for this year:
● The ability to save and collaborate on an application form within the new web platform;
● A streamlined one-step application process with simpler requirements, eliminating the LOI step and including no video upload;
● A waiver of the usual 3-year waiting period for organizations to reapply; and
● Inclusion of general operating support as an allowable request.
Please note, oral health proposals are no longer accepted for the Small Grants Program. However, if an organization recognizes oral health needs that they could help address within their broader children's health work, they are encouraged to connect with the Maine Partnership for Children's Oral Health.
