Northeast Delta Dental Foundation awards $42,000 in grants to Maine oral health programs

Funding will advance oral health and overall wellness in underserved communities

The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation recently awarded $42,000 to four oral health programs throughout Maine. The Foundation supports organizations and initiatives in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that provide oral health education and dental care to uninsured and underserved communities.
 
The Opportunity Alliance was awarded $10,000 for their children’s dental care program. A  $12,000 grant was awarded to St. Croix Regional Health Center for the purchase of a tooth restoration and treatment system. Sunrise Opportunities received $15,000 for a school-based oral health program. Additionally, Knox Clinic was granted $5,000 for dental equipment.
 
The Foundation also awarded $50,000 to support a tri-state program (Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont) through Tufts University School of Dental Medicine for living expenses stipends of students participating in the Northern New England Mentorship Program.
