Mission: OUT Maine’s mission is to work towards a welcoming and affirming Maine for our rural youth of non-confirming sexual orientation, gender expression and gender identity through support, education and empowerment of these youth, their allies and families.
Upcoming Programs: OUT Maine has partnered with the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA), Rock City Cafe in Rockland, and Erickson Fields in Rockport to bring LGBTQ+ and allied youth and young adults’ art and writing to Midcoast Maine during Pride Month with Visions of Inclusion: Youth Pride Art Show & Pride Walk, June 1st - 30th. Additionally, September 23rd – 25th, OUT Maine will present Haystack/OUT Maine Art Weekend. Art Teachers and GSTA Advisors nominated LGBTQ+ Juniors and Seniors for this studio-immersion weekend, with workshops that take place at scenic Deer Isle and are led by renowned LGBTQ+ artist-faculty from around the country.
