The Pine Tree 4-H Foundation (DBA Maine 4-H Foundation) was established in 1961 to help support University of Maine's Cooperative Extenstion 4-H educational programs. We achieve this by promoting, fostering, and encouraging programs in youth education development and leadership. This function is carried out through the University of Maine Cooperative Extension for more than 25,000 Maine youth. Maine's First Ship will build and operate a 51'6" reconstruction of the pinnance "Virginia" to promote an understanding and appreciation of Maine's shipbuilding heritage and general history of this area and its people.
