More than $3.1 trillion in federal grants were awarded in 2020. While this amount quadrupled since 2018, at least one-third were strictly for COVID-19 recovery. Is your organization ready to compete for future federal grants opportunities? Erase the complexity and confusion often associated with federal grants. Rather than relying on corporate or foundation giving, it may be time to seek out potential federal grants.
The objectives of this session include the following:
- Learn to carefully review the federal notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) and request for proposals (RFP) announcements/guidelines
- Understand what the government wants to fund and how to read between the lines
- Understand the process of preparing lengthy, single-spaced proposal narratives in less than 15 business days
- Learn how peer reviewers score your proposal
Presenter
For more than 30 years, Diane Gedeon-Martin has focused on grants, grant seeking, and fund development communications for nonprofits. In 1993, she launched her consulting firm, The Write Source, that today boasts a roster of nearly 300 nonprofit clients in 27 states and Washington, DC.
Diane is a popular speaker and trainer who uses her 15 years in corporate marketing to help nonprofits win grants and develop effective messaging. For 14 years, she was as an adjunct faculty member of The Fund Raising School at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University where she also co-developed the curriculum for their Grant Proposals course. She frequently presents at regional, national, and international conferences across the country including those hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Grant Professionals Association (GPA), statewide resource centers, and a number of other venues. She is a certified AFP Master Trainer and GPA Legacy Member.
