An introduction for funders to the work of Four Directions Development Corporation, Maine's only Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
We are in a critical time when well-timed and coordinated investments can make a transformational difference for indigenous communities and neighboring non-native communities.
Four Directions' mission is to improve the social and economic conditions of Native American tribes in Maine through education, investment in affordable housing, tribal business ventures, and Native entrepreneurship.
At this convening, Four Directions will introduce their financing and technical assistance work across a variety of programming areas including housing, community and economic development, agriculture, and entrepreneurship, all with a focus on sovereignty. After this conversation, participating funders will have an opportunity to complete a survey on areas of interest and will then be invited to relevant follow-up conversations.
