About the Content

Have you compiled a list of potential grantmakers that you might want to approach for funding? (Perhaps you've attended an MPC Grant Research Tutorial or used our Directory of Maine Grantmakers.) Are you wondering what to do next?

This 90-minute workshop will provide you with an easy-to-implement and logical structure for identifying which foundation sources are the best fit for your organization. You’ll learn more about philanthropy in general and how to position your organization to successfully implement grant funding as a tool for achieving your mission. You'll leave the workshop with a better sense of which funders to approach first.

Note:  You do not have to have used the MPC's Directory of Maine Grantmakers or attended an MPC Grant Research Tutorial to participate in this workshop.  All you need is a list of funders you'd like to approach.

About the Instructor

This Maine Philanthropy Center workshop will be led by Ellen Maling, who possesses over 30 years of experience in direct service, management, and consulting for a variety of organizations in Maine, Alaska, and overseas. Ellen is the founder of Merrymeeting Management Solutions in Brunswick, which guides mission-driven organizations throughout New England on their path to growth.
