Presented by Philanthropy Massachusetts

Join us over the coffee hour to learn about an outside-of-the-box capital campaign that worked. With no development staff. During a pandemic. In less than a year. Meet the creative team from Artisan’s Asylum that stood up its Capital Campaign team in January 2020 and launched their campaign four months later as Covid-19 ballooned in the region. Over the next year the team created its campaign materials, expanded its volunteer support, hit a major reset, and then sprinted from launching a crowdfunding campaign to purchasing a CRM to completing their $1.2 million raise. Lars Hasselblad Torres, Executive Director, and Ariel Matisse, Board Co-Chair and Development Committee Chair, will share their story and lessons learned, unpack some of the data, offer tips for nonprofits interested in launching a campaign, and invite others to share their successes. Come prepared to discuss your own capital campaign ideas and quandaries.

About the series

Fundraising Fridays are monthly hour-long “coffee talks” facilitated by thought leaders from the social sector. These discussion groups, held at 9:00 am the first Friday of each month, are free and open to any and all nonprofit professionals and volunteers interested in fundraising and development issues (EDs, DDs, development staff, volunteer leaders, etc.). Participants will come away with a greater understanding of the topic at hand and connections to nonprofit peers who share similar interests and concerns.

Zoom information will be sent via email in advance of the session.
