In 2016, the Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) identified health equity as an emphasis area to be included in the foundation’s strategic plan. In order to develop an approach to this new strategic focus area, MeHAF formed an ad hoc Equity Subcommittee, comprised jointly of Board and Community Advisory Committee members. After working together for months, the subcommittee developed a set of recommendations that were approved by MeHAF's board in August 2017.

The subcommittee's four-page advisory document – which will be shared at this event – provides equity-related operations guidance in three major categories: grant-making strategy and process, leadership voice and visibility, and internal operations and culture. MeHAF Program Officer Jake Grindle will offer details of MeHAF's equity-building process, share key learnings that emerged, and reveal how MeHAF is changing its practices to better support equity.

While this event is free (bring your lunch!), we ask you to RSVP for planning purposes.
