Our free, monthly grant research tutorials are now virtual.

If you are new to grant research, new to our resesearch databases, or just want expand your research prowess, we welcome you to attend one of our monthly tutorials.  These interactive classes are designed to familiarize you with the landscape of foundation giving in Maine and walk you through the basics of researching high-quality prospective funders for your work.

We cover the usage of two research tools vital for your grantseeking toolkit: Maine Philanthropy Center's Directory of Maine Grantmakers and Candid's Foundation Directory Online.   The Directory of Maine Grantmakers is the best source of up-to-date, comprehensive information on Maine funders and contains roughly 400 grantmaker profiles, indexed by focus area, support type, and more.   Candid's Foundation Directory Online is the largest database on U.S. foundations and their grantmaking.  It has a powerful search interface and the ability to find detailed information not only for grantmakers but also grants given and their recipients.

Virtual tutorial registrants will receive day-long access to the online Directory of Maine Grantmakers in order to follow along during the tutorial and continue conducting research during the rest of the day.

All tutorials are recorded and shared with registrants after each session.
