At Maine Philanthropy Center, we believe in fostering relationships and increasing opportunities for learning, alignment, and collaborative action among funders. Our funder networks exist for just these reasons. As we move into 2021, MPC will be developing more structure and support around our networks as well as developing new groups where there is key need, but none currently exist. One area identified by many is a network for arts and culture funders to convene. We will start convening this group in February and plan to meet on a quarterly basis. While the full purpose will be articulated by the group itself, the initial main goals of this group will be:
- Deepen members’ knowledge of arts and culture philanthropy
- Expand members’ professional networks
- Explore topical issues affecting Maine arts and culture
- Develop collective impact strategies
