A wise and humble grantmaker once said, “It’s easy to give away money, but it’s not so easy to do it well.” We estimate that our members award around $70 million in grants and gifts, a formidable amount when considered in the aggregate, and they want to make the best possible charitable use of those charitable dollars.
MPC offers programs designed to keep grantmakers abreast of the latest thinking and trends in philanthropy – here in Maine, regionally and nationally. From best practices and sample documents to connections to other grantmakers, nonprofits or resources, MPC is your one-stop shop for philanthropic information. As members of MPC, you are also a part of a national network of 31 regional grantmaker associations.
MPC offers two membership categories:
Grantmaker Membership is available to staff and trustees of independent, family, corporate and community foundations, as well as philanthropic individuals. MPC participates in the Guest Membership Program for those grantmaker members from 18 other regional associations throughout the country.
As a grantmaker membership organization, MPC also finds it valuable to build a bridge to the nonprofit community and to those who provide support to the charitable sector in Maine. Associate Membership is available to nonprofit organizations, professional advisors and consultants. |
