MPC’s Board has convened a task force of grantmakers, nonprofit and public policy leaders to identify strategies to improve philanthropy in Maine. Private philanthropy offers flexibility both in the use of the dollars and the ability to take a long-term view of solving problems for Maine people. But private philanthropy can’t possibly meet the growing needs and fill all the gaps. This group has begun to identify a number of strategies to increase the impact of philanthropy and to expand resources available in Maine.
