Language Access for New Americans (LANA)  

Three years ago, a group of MPC members interested in promoting diversity in Maine noted a lack of proposals addressing the issue in a unified fashion.  MPC convened organizations serving the immigrant and refuge community who identified availability of translation and interpretation services as a priority.  Subsequently developed by a collaborative group of grantmakers and nonprofits, LANA focuses on identifying, recruiting and training translators and interpreters and providing a central source of information about their services.
