Moving to Community Action for Youth Mental Health: Tools for Enhancing Protective Factors for Youth Thriving

Maine Resilience Building Network

Room: Somerset Room

Community-developed solutions are essential to build protective factors for youth mental health promotion. The Maine Resilience Building Network (MRBN) developed “Maine Youth Thriving, A Guide to Community Action” (YTG) in collaboration with partners, to provide communities with tools and resources to support youth thriving and believing they matter in their community. The workshop will provide action strategies designed for application in community and cultural context and focus on inclusivity and attention to the full range of youth in the community- vulnerable, engaged and others. Participants will understand the importance of the mental health issues of youth who may be marginalized or more at risk due to identity and will apply identified strategies in a community action plan.
